Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) today announces the administrative appointment of a new assistant principal for the 2026-2027 school year. The appointment is effective immediately.
Elizabeth Lawless has been appointed as an assistant principal at Theodore G. Davis Middle School. Prior to her appointment, Lawless served as an Administrative Intern at St. Charles High School. Lawless taught English at St. Charles for several years before her selection by former St. Charles Principal Tammika Little to serve as the administrative intern for the 2025-2026 school year.
She has also served as an administrator in the CCPS Summer School program. Before teaching at St. Charles, Lawless taught language arts at Davis and started her teaching career with CCPS at La Plata High School in 2010.
The Board of Education of Charles County in May approved an assistant principal pool that included Lawless. Administrative intern positions at CCPS schools are not subject to Board approval and are filled by school principals as vacancies for those positions become open.
